Aqua and Water Benchmarking Program
As an owner or operator of a commercial building (that is more than 25,000 square feet in size), you should have received a letter from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) about the NJ Clean Energy Act’s Energy and Water Benchmarking Law. This Law requires the tracking and reporting of energy and water usage to the US Environmental Protection Agency using their Energy Star Portfolio Manager tool by December 31, 2023. The letter from the BPU (a copy of which can be seen here - attached) provides details about the requirements and expectations.
If you are a tenant, in order to obtain the water usage data required to help your business comply with this important new regulation, please fill out the consent form found here, and submit to AquaNJ_BPUaudit@aquaamerica.com. You will receive confirmation that Aqua received your email, and the data requested will be provided within 4-6 weeks of request receipt.
If you are a property owner, please send an email request with your name, account number, and address to AquaNJ_BPUaudit@aquaamerica.com to request your usage data.
